Rörö has a volunteer fire brigade that functions as the island’s fire and rescue service. The brigade consists of around eight people who respond to alarms and handle fires, accidents and other emergencies on the island. Since Rörö does not have a 24-hour manned fire station, the brigade is an important safety resource for the residents.

Rörö has a volunteer fire brigade that functions as the island’s fire and rescue service. The brigade consists of around eight people who respond to alarms and handle fires, accidents and other emergencies on the island. Since Rörö does not have a 24-hour manned fire station, the brigade is an important safety resource for the residents.

Operations are carried out within the framework of the Öckerö Rescue Service, which is responsible for training, equipment and coordination. In the event of major incidents, the civil defence service cooperates with the municipality’s other rescue forces.

If you are interested in becoming part of the rescue service, please contact Öckerö Municipality. New members receive an introduction and training so that they can participate in rescue work.
