Stay and spend the night on Rörö

Stay and spend the night on Rörö

Staying overnight on Rörö means truly experiencing the island – when calm descends on the harbour and the sea becomes still. There are several accommodation options for those who want to enjoy island life a little longer.

The guest harbour

For those arriving by boat, there are around 100 guest berths in the harbour. If you are travelling by motorhome, there are a limited number of parking spaces near the Sea Rescue Service and Tappen. Either way, you will be staying right by the sea and close to amenities, swimming spots and beautiful walking trails.

The guest harbour is within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafés and the cliffs at the nature reserve – a great starting point for exploring the whole island.

Rental

The island has a hostel in the community centre, offering cosy and personal accommodation in the middle of the built-up part of the island, close to both the harbour and nature. Here you can stay simply, cheaply and comfortably.

Det finns också stugor och privata boenden att hyra, både via lokala kontakter, facebookgruppen “Vi som hyr ut på Rörö” och andra uthyrningssidor på nätet som Stugnet , Airbnb och Stugknuten . Some are centrally located, others more secluded, but all are within walking distance of cliffs, bathing spots and hiking trails.

Rörö Hostel

We are located in the centre of town, close to the harbour and just a few minutes’ walk from the nature reserve. Here you can enjoy simple, comfortable accommodation in bright rooms, with self-catering facilities in the communal kitchen. The hostel has several communal areas and patios, and is close to bathing spots, hiking trails and the island’s amenities.

Regardless of how you choose to stay, the feeling is the same – the sea air, tranquillity and proximity to nature make Rörö feel a little bigger than its size.

No camping or tents in the nature reserve

In order to protect plant and animal life and preserve the open landscape, camping is not permitted in the Rörö Nature Reserve. Instead, use the hostel or other accommodation options on the island if you want to stay overnight.
